Would you like to learn how to make re-useable bags made from recycled materials, to give to others in our community? https://morsbags.com/make-a-morsbag
There is an opportunity for a group of up to 10 people to meet at the Stables to create bags together; and learn skills together. No sewing experience needed as you can be part of the pressing and cutting team; but if you can sew and have a sewing machine please bring one along.
There will be scrap material and templates available, so all that is needed is your time for a few hours. The idea is that once a good number of Morsbags have been created these are given away to others in the community, perhaps at an event.

Reuse festival
Organised by LiL
Bikes can be donated to Lil on November 4 or 5, so that the fab MikesBikes can look them over.
Small electrical items that are in great working order can also be donated to LiL, any time from the 4th.
General donations can be made to Lil at 10 High St Haddington EH41 3ES from Monday November 7th. There's a long list on the LiL website, but they're looking for stuff you'd be happy to get for Christmas, or can't wait to see another family leave with. It could be plants, baby gear, clothes of all ages, toys, books, household items (Toys with CE marks, furnishings with fire safe tags please)
Got stuff you'd like some ££ back for? LiL has got a limited 50/50 scheme with details on their website or message them. Last year some of these smaller items got mixed up, so they are asking this year that you clearly mark every item with you name, sale price and if it's still there at 1pm, do we put it aside or gift it out in the general sale? (Mark KEEP/GIFT) Any unsold items need to be collected by 4pm, so you’ll also need to put your phone number to keep you posted (this can be given to LiL, doesn't need to be on the price tag!).

Wild Garden Visit
In creating gardens for wildlife there are so many different ways we can approach it. At one end of the spectrum we can have gardens deliberately and carefully designed to attract wildlife, with features and particular plants grown. At the other end of the spectrum we can just leave our gardens be and see what unfolds.
This garden is an example of a garden kept wild. It's a great garden for the birds.... from here you get a view of where house martins nest, and the different bird feeders used to attract a great variety of birds.
Come along to take a peek! Drop in any time between 4.00 - 7.00pm. Sign up here: Wild Garden visit Tickets, Sun 7 Aug 2022 at 16:00 | Eventbrite

CAEL BBQ and overnight camping
CAEL are having a BBQ and (optional) overnight camp this Saturday, 11th June, from 6pm.
You are more than welcome to come along for as much or as little of it as you like.
When is it?
Arrive from 6pm on Saturday. We'll start BBQing soon after that and you are welcome to stay as long as you like. Bring a tent if you would like to camp (there's plenty of space). You are welcome to come earlier in the day if you would like to pitch your tent or leave anything here. Someone will be at home in the morning.
What to bring?
Please bring food and drink to share. We will provide all of the BBQ equipment and some tables, chairs, plates, cutlery and glasses, but if it is easy for you to bring camping versions of any of these types of things, that would be helpful. Bring a tent, a sleeping bag and something for breakfast if you would like to stay over.
Where is it?

Water features for wildlife
Did you know that having a water feature is one of the most important things we could do for wildlife in our gardens?
If you're interested in learning more about how to create or manage a water feature in your garden we have the exciting opportunity to meet with a local Wildlife Ranger around a beautiful pond in a local East Linton garden.
We will have the chance to hear from him about the different options for creating and managing a water feature in our gardens - large or small.
